Open Lab (Members Only)

Peers and Play are two of the foundational pillars of the MIT Media Lab's famous Scratch platform. We couldn't agree more and have incorporated these elements in our curriculum and operations.

Hypothesis: Our youngest students, ages 6-8, love to code, but they also LOVE Roblox. They need an outlet to release some steam and just have fun adding cool stuff from the toolbox into Roblox Studio. Bonus points if they can have fun with friends. We believe that in releasing some steam in times when they are not in their coding sessions will keep them motivated, excited and ready to code during their 50-minute session.

Solution: Enter Open Lab. Exclusively for members and their friends, kids can let their imaginations run wild in Roblox Studio during this 50-minute session of unstructured exploration and play.

Result: The students love Open Lab! They have made new friends, play, are more focused during their sessions, and look forward to their monthly Open Lab slots.
